ahalens Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of ahalens, a web-based dashboard for Etsy sellers (the "Service"). The Service is operated by Stonewell Studio ("Stonewell Studio," "ahalens," "we," "us," or "our").

Please read these Terms together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and share information.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account, connecting an Etsy shop, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you use the Service for a business, shop, company, or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Who May Use ahalens

You may use ahalens only if you:

  • are at least 18 years old;
  • can enter into a binding agreement;
  • are an Etsy seller, or are authorised by an Etsy seller to connect and view the relevant Etsy shop data; and
  • use the Service for lawful business purposes.

You are responsible for making sure your use of ahalens complies with applicable laws, Etsy's terms and policies, and any obligations you have to your customers, staff, contractors, or business partners.

3. Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account.

Tell us promptly at hello@ahalens.pro if you believe your account has been accessed without permission or if your connected Etsy shop is no longer authorised for use with ahalens.

4. Etsy Shops and Third-Party Services

ahalens connects to Etsy only after you authorise access through Etsy OAuth. ahalens is not Etsy, is not affiliated with Etsy, and is not endorsed or certified by Etsy. Etsy is not the developer or provider of ahalens, does not provide the ahalens service, and does not make warranties about ahalens or data accessed through ahalens.

Etsy's services, APIs, accounts, shops, listings, orders, payments, outages, authorisation behaviour, and policies are controlled by Etsy, not by us.

The Service depends on third-party services, including Etsy and our hosting, database, email, and infrastructure providers. We may need to change, pause, limit, or remove features if third-party services change, become unavailable, impose limits, reject requests, or require different compliance handling.

The visible Etsy trademark and API notice for the Service appears in the ahalens website or application footer.

5. Your Authorisation to Access Etsy Data

When you connect an Etsy shop, you authorise us to use the Etsy OAuth access you grant to retrieve, store, process, and display the Etsy shop, order, receipt, transaction, payment-account ledger, listing, and related data needed to provide the Service.

For the current MVP, ahalens is designed as a read-only analytics dashboard. It does not create, edit, renew, publish, delete, fulfil, cancel, or otherwise modify your Etsy shop, listings, orders, receipts, messages, payments, or payouts.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to authorise us to access the connected Etsy shop and related Etsy data.

6. Your Data

As between you and Stonewell Studio, you retain ownership of the data you provide to ahalens and the Etsy shop data we access through your authorisation ("User Data").

These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Data to us.

7. Licence to Use User Data

You grant Stonewell Studio a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to access, use, copy, store, process, transmit, display, and create derived analytics from User Data only as reasonably needed to:

  • operate, provide, maintain, and support ahalens;
  • sync authorised Etsy data and calculate, display, and maintain derived analytics, reports, summaries, trends, data-quality states, and related shop insights;
  • secure, debug, monitor, and protect the Service;
  • respond to support requests and account actions;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce these Terms; and
  • improve the Service, including reliability, performance, data quality, and user experience.

When we use User Data to improve the Service, we will use aggregated or de-identified data where reasonably possible. We may use identifiable User Data where reasonably needed to provide the Service, support you, debug issues, maintain security, comply with law, or enforce these Terms.

This licence lasts only for as long as needed for the purposes above, subject to the data retention, disconnect, account closure, backup, legal, and security details in our Privacy Policy.

8. Aggregated and De-Identified Data

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand, operate, secure, and improve the Service. If we use or share aggregated or de-identified information, it must not reasonably identify you, your Etsy shop, your customers, or any specific order, receipt, listing, or buyer.

9. Analytics and Accuracy Limits

ahalens provides analytics based on available synced data and our calculation rules. Metrics may be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, or later revised because of factors including, but not limited to:

  • Etsy API availability, rate limits, response behaviour, permissions, or data changes;
  • your Etsy OAuth authorisation status or granted scopes;
  • sync timing, failed syncs, paused syncs, reconnect-required states, or incomplete source coverage;
  • refunds, cancellations, partial refunds, order status changes, payment-account ledger timing, or other post-purchase updates;
  • shop currency, reporting timezone, weekly reporting start day, and date-bucketing settings; and
  • the assumptions, exclusions, and calculation rules used by ahalens.

You should check important business information against Etsy, your own records, and your professional advisers before relying on it.

10. No Business Outcome Guarantee

ahalens does not guarantee any increase in sales, revenue, rankings, traffic, conversion rate, profit, customer demand, listing performance, or other business outcome.

Any insights, trends, summaries, warnings, or comparisons shown in ahalens are informational only.

11. Not Professional Advice

ahalens does not provide financial, tax, legal, accounting, investment, or business advisory services. You remain responsible for your own pricing, tax, accounting, inventory, marketing, marketplace, and business decisions.

12. Acceptable Use

You must not:

  • scrape, crawl, harvest, or extract data from the Service except through normal use of the product;
  • overload, abuse, disrupt, bypass, or interfere with the Service or its security controls;
  • attempt to access accounts, shops, data, systems, APIs, or features you are not authorised to access;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, copy, modify, resell, sublicense, rent, or provide the Service to others as a competing or managed service;
  • use ahalens to violate Etsy's terms, policies, API rules, or rate limits;
  • use the Service for unlawful, misleading, infringing, harmful, or abusive purposes; or
  • submit malicious code, automate account creation, impersonate others, or misrepresent your authority over an Etsy shop.

13. Stonewell Studio Intellectual Property

The Service, including ahalens software and source code, user interface and design, copy and branding, reports, summaries, documentation, workflows, and the selection, arrangement, and presentation of metrics and insights, is owned by Stonewell Studio or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to access and use the Service for your own authorised business use. You do not receive any ownership rights in ahalens.

14. Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas, requests, or suggestions, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment to you. You confirm that your feedback is voluntary and does not include information you are not allowed to share.

15. Service Availability, Changes, and MVP Limits

ahalens is currently an MVP. Features may be incomplete, limited, experimental, changed, paused, or removed as we build and improve the Service.

We aim to provide a useful and reliable product, but we do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, permanently available, or compatible with every Etsy account, shop configuration, browser, device, or workflow.

We may update, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service where reasonably needed for product development, security, compliance, reliability, third-party service changes, or business reasons.

16. Suspension and Termination by Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we reasonably believe that:

  • you have breached these Terms;
  • your use creates security, legal, operational, data protection, Etsy API, or third-party service risk;
  • your account or Etsy authorisation appears unauthorised, compromised, fraudulent, or abusive;
  • we are required to do so by law or by a third-party service provider; or
  • the Service, or a relevant part of it, is being discontinued.

Where reasonable, we will try to notify you before suspending or terminating access, but we may act without prior notice where urgent action is needed.

If we terminate or close your account, we will handle your account and User Data in accordance with Section 17 and our Privacy Policy, subject to any retention reasonably needed for legal, security, backup, dispute-resolution, abuse-prevention, or operational purposes. Suspension does not necessarily mean your account or data has been deleted.

17. Disconnecting Etsy and Closing Your Account

You can disconnect your Etsy shop in ahalens settings. ahalens is designed to handle disconnect by:

  • clearing local Etsy token material for that shop;
  • stopping future Etsy sync for that shop unless you reconnect;
  • pausing sync with a disconnected state; and
  • keeping historical synced dashboard data visible in ahalens unless you separately close your account or request deletion where available.

Disconnecting inside ahalens does not delete or modify Etsy-side data and does not necessarily remove ahalens from Etsy's own authorised-app list. You can separately manage app authorisation from Etsy's integrations settings.

You can close your ahalens account in settings. ahalens is designed to handle account closure by deleting the active application database copy of your local ahalens account, locally synced shop data, order and item rows, listing context, ledger rows, derived metric outputs, sync state, and authentication records, subject to limited retained security audit metadata and backup, legal, or operational retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Account closure does not delete, modify, cancel, refund, fulfil, or otherwise change anything in your Etsy account, shop, listings, orders, receipts, payments, payouts, or other Etsy-side records.

Disconnect or account closure may be delayed if a sync or other Etsy operation is actively running.

18. Fees and Paid Features

The current MVP does not include billing or subscriptions. Paid features may be introduced later. If we offer paid features, we will provide the applicable fees and key terms before you buy or activate them.

19. Australian Consumer Law and Disclaimers

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy, or other protection that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.

Subject to those non-excludable rights and to the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not make warranties or representations that the Service will be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or suitable for your particular business needs.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, guarantees, or conditions that may otherwise apply to the Service, except those that cannot be excluded by law.

20. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Stonewell Studio will not be liable for indirect, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, opportunity, data, business interruption, or anticipated savings arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of:

  • the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
  • AUD 100, if you have not paid us for the Service.

Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law, our liability is limited, at our option, to supplying the relevant services again or paying the cost of having the relevant services supplied again.

21. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Stonewell Studio against reasonable losses, liabilities, claims, damages, costs, and expenses to the extent caused by:

  • your breach of these Terms;
  • your misuse of the Service;
  • your unauthorised connection of an Etsy shop;
  • your violation of Etsy's terms, policies, or API rules;
  • your infringement of another person's rights; or
  • your unlawful conduct.

This indemnity does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by our fraud, wilful misconduct, or breach of these Terms.

22. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.

If changes are material, we may provide additional notice in the Service or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.

23. General Terms

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms we expressly provide for a specific feature, are the entire agreement between you and Stonewell Studio about the Service.

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructure, sale of assets, or transfer of the Service, provided the recipient agrees to handle User Data consistently with these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

We may send notices to you by email, in-product message, or posting within the Service. You may send notices to us at hello@ahalens.pro.

Any provisions that by their nature should continue after your access ends will survive, including provisions about User Data handling for retained information, intellectual property, feedback, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, governing law, and this General Terms section.

If either party does not enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion, that does not waive the right to enforce that provision or any other provision later.

24. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. The courts of Victoria, Australia, and courts entitled to hear appeals from them, have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes relating to these Terms or the Service.
